The Virgo Personality

Evolved: Virgo is a master of discernment, testing through critical analysis. She separates, sifts, classifies and arranges things and people to recognize their practical use. Accuracy and method are important to her and she makes an excellent manager. Even though she is a hard worker and will take on the details of any project with gusto, she expects little thanks or recognition—although it does sometimes come. When leadership and fame come to Virgo, it’s usually later in life, after challenges and roadblocks have been overcome.



Virgo works best alone, she has little patience with co-workers or assistants. She has no time or patience with critics or emotional pettiness. Virgo is dextrous and will excel in handcrafts, showing genius in form , originality, and structure.

She is not a fashion slave, but dresses with care. She is never ostentatious, and rarely follows fads. When in good company, she is witty and charming but cold and cutting when crossed.

In relationships, she is caring and warm, and never strongly sentimental. However, when in love, Virgo can be passionate. Her love partners are chosen carefully. Although she can be a good parent, the Virgo doesn’t necessarily need children to be happy.

In spiritual life, Virgo is well suited to monastic of convent life. She can be comfortable with that sterile, celibate, contemplative way of living.

Base: Impossible to please, exacting and critical. She sees only how things can’t be done and pays attention to only the flaws. She is resentful and blames others for her failure and misery. Never able to see the big picture, or the overall scheme, she gets lost in details. She is apt to make mountains out of molehills and goes on and on about the most insignificant annoyances.

Both Types: The City of Paris is under the sign of Virgo and she typifies Virgo very well. Parisians dress conservatively and tastefully, they are critical and analytical of others. They hold few illusions or cherished beliefs. They are practical, skeptical and artistic. They are hard working, frugal, and can be irritable. They can also be witty and charming.

Virgo is fastidious about cleanliness and food and can be seen wiping forks at restaurants and brushing off the seat before she sits down. Her home is organized, neat, and clean, ‑‑ even where it doesn’t show.
