The Sagittarius Personality

Evolved: The one thing that stands out for Sagittarius is his extraordinary mental capacity. He gets to the bottom of things and faces life full on. He experiences even the most complex problems in their simplest forms. He can untangle the tangled and demystify the mysterious. His curiosity is insatiable and his mental energy never seems to run down. He is a born teacher and takes a great interest in educating others with his wisdom. He is direct and straightforward, never mincing words or watering down facts. In teaching he likes to use the Socratic school, guiding his students to observe and reason for themselves.

When crossed, he will not hesitate to go after your weak points. He is intuitive and seldom misses the mark when on the attack. Everything he does, he does with enthusiasm. Freedom is important to him and he cannot endure long in structured, restricted environments. Sagittarius collects data, facts, information; and uses them to simplify the complex.

He often seems somewhat detached from others and usually has no burning desire for home and family. He is frank and outspoken, but sincere. Never tell a Sagittarius a secret if you don’t want everyone else to hear it. He doesn’t do this from malice, but he is so open and honest with his own life, he doesn’t really understand about secrets unless told blatantly outright that what you are about to say is for his ears only. Sagittarius is open, honest, truthful, frank, blunt, energetic, enthusiastic, direct.

Base : The Base type of Sagittarian usually doesn’t marry unless forced into it. He is self-indulgent and can’t be bothered with the burden of marriage. He can be blunt and boorish, rude and insulting to others. He is selfish, inconsiderate and lives in the present. In religion or philosophy, he will dogmatize and lack interest in questioning his own beliefs.

However, Sagittarius Base type has a curiously childlike transparency about them because of a lack of any complex emotions. He is rarely jealous or vindictive and doesn’t question much. He is a poor liar and cannot cheat successfully.

Both types: Are skeptical in religion and rarely will stay in conventional faiths. Common sense gets in the way of most theologies and he will make up his own or interpret religion according to his own brand of logic. He loves debate and usually wins. He has a wonderful sense of humor and wins over many opponents with his wit and playfulness. But he can be uncompromising and defy public opinion. It is this attitude that caused
Socrates his untimely death. But Sagittarius is more known for his bright optimism, and childlike confidence in himself and others; a longing for wisdom and understanding and the ability to be direct and straightforward.
