Astrologically, attraction can be judged by comparing Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars with Ascendant and Descendant from one horoscope to another.
Unless these planets and the ascendant or descendant are combined in some way it is doubtful that attraction will last very long. A Venus/Mars combination can create attraction but it is very short lived without other factors to keep it going.
The closer the orb, the stronger the influence.
GENERAL INDICATORS FOR ATTRACTION
Sun conjunct, opposite, sextile, or trine Moon
The Sun represents our masculine energy, the Moon, our feminine. Attraction seeks expression of our hidden self (masculine in a woman and feminine in a man) through the other. The Sun is protective, the Moon is nurturing.
Aspects between Mars & Venus
Mars expresses as desire, wants, and assertion. Venus expresses as affection, reception, and beauty. Mars and Venus aspects show sexuality, stimulation, and desire. The conjunction, trine and sextile are congenial, and exciting. The opposition and square show strong attraction but often with jealousy, friction or intense
emotion. It can also indicate a one-sided attraction. Inconjunctions and semi-sextiles (both are really inconjunctions) create an attraction but a need to balance through the other person. So Mars inconjunct Venus would be a desire to balance the assertive, fiery nature of Mars with the soft, receptive nature of Venus through another person.
Aspects Between Venus and Uranus
This produces a magnetic, fascinating attraction. This can often be love at first sight. Venus/Uranus combinations dazzle and sparkle. This also indicates an unconventional relationship.
