Mundane astrology

Mundane astrology is the astrology of nations, groups, world events, geology and weather. This is the oldest form of astrology. Personal astrology wasn’t even thought of before the 4th century. Although astrology was used personally for the ruling class of people because their fates and the fate of their nations went hand in hand.

One of the earliest Roman writings on astrology comes from around 30 B.C. During the reign of Octavious. Babylonian tablets were translated into five long poems which explained a system of astrology and told what nations or geographical areas fell under what signs. It was believed that racial differences were due to zodiacal rulership of their homeland. Strife between nations was due to incompatible ruling zodiac signs.

Health astrology - medical astrology

Astrology can give us an insight into our health weaknesses and strengths and gives us warning about possible health problems. One of the things to look for in health astrology are eclipses. Note the house position and the sign the eclipse is in. Look at the aspects it triggers in the natal chart.

ECLIPSES:
• Effects last six months
• Strongest is an eclipse to the Sun
• Eclipse to the moon looks back to the past and brings things forward
• Emphasizes things of the house in which it falls. There will be a health crisis if the eclipse falls in the 6th or 12th house.
• The 6th house is acute illness; the 12th house is genetic or chronic
• The only aspects that relate to health are the conjunction and the opposition

Karmic astrology - Saturn aspects

Aspects to and from Saturn either ease or cause challenges and blocks to resolving karma.
Hard aspects such as semisquare, square, and opposition, conjunction and inconjunction
cause difficulty. Soft aspects such as semisextile, sextile, and trine ease karma resolution.

Saturn/Sun
Hard aspects with Saturn/Sun show something in a past life having to do with misuse of authority with guilt. This can be brought forward in the present life as lack of self-worth and low self esteem. We look to others to applaud our accomplishments or look outward for recognition to help us feel better. The lesson is to take responsibility for our own feelings and our own worth.

Saturn/Moon
With Saturn/Moon we were in a painful life involving children. We now bring forth guilt about this and become overly sensitive to the needs of children. We may feel we have a destiny to rescue children from mistreatment or pain.

What is Karmic Astrology? - Saturn

One way to determine past lives and karma in a chart is by looking at Saturn. Saturn is the taskmaster planet and brings us to face Karmic issues. Saturn’s placement shows the Karmic lessons to be learned. It is where we take on the most responsibility and where we are most likely to feel restrictions.

First House
In the 1st or ruling the 1st, the manifestation is not being wanted which results in guilt, insecurity, a feeling of having to be responsible for the lives of those around us. This can result in control issues where safety is felt only when we are controlling our environment. We may take on the responsibility of others and get dumped on and taken advantage of so we will be needed and wanted.

We have chosen restrictions in early life to teach us about responsibility. We came into the present incarnation reluctantly because we know this is a tough one to learn. But with 1st house Saturn influence there is a destiny or task to perform in later years (after 50 usually). We are old souls and choose the hard road to toughen us for the destiny or task ahead. If we pass the gauntlet of insecurity and develop a strong sense of self, we can do anything.

Second House
Our karma is with finances and material security. Whether born rich or poor, we worry about money and security. We may deny the importance of money for happiness, but underneath it all, money and security are what we worry about. We may also have Karmic guilt about money and try to avoid it. We may come in with Karmic memories of deprivation and poverty. We may seek others to support us or seek total

Synastry astrology - Elements and qualities

ELEMENTS AND QUALITIES
Partners with too many of the same category or element can cause conflict. Ideally there will be a balance between the two charts.
Fire with Fire
Each will see themselves reflected in the other. There may be a clash of wills with little inclination to compromise. Each may either pull in the same direction or in opposite directions. They spark off of each other when working in harmony and the energy produced it considerable. There may be sudden temper flares.
Fire with Earth
Metal, or earth is made flexible by fire so that it can be shaped. Too much earth can suffocate fire. This combination is expressed as spirit working with matter. Fire may be impatient with the plodding earth. Earth can be an anchor and a point of stability for fire. Earth may be critical of fire for impulsivity and Fire feels Earth spends too much time thinking and planning. Here we have enthusiasm countered with common sense.
Fire with Air
Fire needs air to keep burning but too much air can extinguish fire. Too much fire can consume air and destroy itself in the process. Here is a combination of idealism and enthusiasm that can lose touch with

Synastry astrology - General indicators for attraction

ATTRACTION
Astrologically, attraction can be judged by comparing Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars with Ascendant and Descendant from one horoscope to another.
Unless these planets and the ascendant or descendant are combined in some way it is doubtful that attraction will last very long. A Venus/Mars combination can create attraction but it is very short lived without other factors to keep it going.
The closer the orb, the stronger the influence.

GENERAL INDICATORS FOR ATTRACTION
Sun conjunct, opposite, sextile, or trine Moon
The Sun represents our masculine energy, the Moon, our feminine. Attraction seeks expression of our hidden self (masculine in a woman and feminine in a man) through the other. The Sun is protective, the Moon is nurturing.

Aspects between Mars & Venus
Mars expresses as desire, wants, and assertion. Venus expresses as affection, reception, and beauty. Mars and Venus aspects show sexuality, stimulation, and desire. The conjunction, trine and sextile are congenial, and exciting. The opposition and square show strong attraction but often with jealousy, friction or intense
